The Somerville Group manufactures, supplies and installs kitchen and/or laundry equipment to the commercial and institutional sectors. Our Group Chairman, Mr. William A. Somerville, first established W.A. Somerville in Hong Kong in 1958, over 50 years ago. Somerville currently operates regional manufacturing and trading companies in 6 countries.

Somerville (Singapore) has over the 45 years, been appointed kitchen designers for new build and renovation developments for hotels, hospitals, clubs, restaurants, food courts and staff cafeterias. Our clients are global companies with regional projects covering Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Turkey.

The progressive planning of the kitchen/s is offered on a fee basis tailored to suit the client and specific project needs as a turnkey or independent of the equipment supply:
On a turnkey basis with a design fee where Somerville (Singapore), appointed as designer does not disqualify a member of the Somerville group to participate in the kitchen equipment tender process
Where Somerville (Singapore) provides design and planning without a Somerville company participating in the tender process
Where Somerville (Singapore) designers collaborate with an F&B or another consultant to interpret and develop the designs for local implementation.
Whichever the assignment, the kitchen designer under the direction of the project design team would obtain and document the operating brief from the Owner, Operator or his representative, The Owner’s requirements are coordinated with the Architect, Structural, M&E Consultants, Interior Designer and subsequently implemented into the kitchen layouts for the project. The kitchens designs are developed in approve stages, with recommendations in the interests of the development. Attention is paid to workflow, hygiene, health and safety issues and to the sourcing of the suitable equipment specification.
